Kang Dong-won (born January 18, 1981 in Pusan, South Korea) is a South Korean film and television actor. He was a professional model before he started acting in television dramas and movies. With his beautiful androgynous look, Kang is considered as one of the leading stars of the second-generation Hallyu (Korean Wave), reaching fame in Asian countries particularly in Japan. He is arguably one of the most promising young actors in the Korean film industry, after his critically acclaimed performance in Maundy Thursday (2006). His acting ability, which has long been overshadowed by his look and popularity, has further been proven genuine in the recent hit movie Voice of a Murderer (2007), where he appears only by voice. His circle of famous friends include Won Bin, Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung, Ha Ji-won (whom he co-starred in Duelist) and Jo Han Sun (his co-star in A Wolf's Temptation) to mention a few.
