Lee Yeon Hee Biography
In the summer of 2001, at the mere age of 13, Lee Yeon Hee was picked up by SM Entertainment after she won the category of "Feature Best" in the SM Entertainment Best Youth Contest. In the Contest, the acted out a monologue, sang Dana's "Until the End of The World," and modeled various poses.
She started to gain attention after fans began to notice her repeated appearances in the music videos of such SM artists as Moon Hee Jun, Kangta, Shinhwa, and Fly to the Sky. Yeon Hee quickly took the title of SM's "music video girl" away from Kim Bomi of M.I.L.K.; in the span of roughly a year, she had already been in eight music videos versus Bomi's five in two years.
Though Yeon Hee had relatively steady work between modeling in magazines, acting in commercials, and appearing in music videos, she didn't really get her kick start until late 2004. In November, she had a role in the popular historical drama "Emperor of the Sea." A few months later, she landed a role in the latter episodes of the daily drama "My Precious Child." A role in "Rebirth" brought the number of dramas under her belt to three. Yeon Hee kept busy throughout the rest of the year 2005 by filming many commercials and modeling for various magazines.
Yeon Hee's big break came in the form of the movie "Millionaire's First Love" playing the lead opposite popular actor Hyun Bin. Yeon Hee resolves to "act as hard as she can with all that she's learned" for her movie debut. Through the movie, she also makes her singing debut, singing "Do Re Mi" from The Sound of Music in the movie and "Insa" on the original sound track.

Jolin Tsai Biography
Though Jolin was introverted and shy as a child, her mother realized early on that Jolin was of scholarly material, so her mother brought her to attend Japanese-style mathematics lessons, which she completed more rapidly than anyone expected she would. During her primary school years, her excellent scores meant that she failed to rank in the top three of her class only once, a class in which she placed tenth. Eventually, her scholastic abilities enabled her to enroll at Jingmei Girls High School and later, Fu Jen Catholic University.
Jolin devoted her youth to studying the English language, self-studying English in her primary school years. She eventually majored in English Literature at Fu Jen Catholic University, a Taiwanese university that is popular for its English culture, is regarded for its Department of English Language and Literature, and includes in its ranks of alumni a number of Taiwanese entertainers. Jolin expressed interest in recording an album of songs entirely in English, though lamenting such an album would be unprofitable.
It was in her childhood years that Jolin developed an interest in singing and experimented with different vocal techniques after listening to the songs of popular female divas such as Teresa Teng and Faye Wong.
Jolin Tsai inked a recording deal with Universal Music after winning a singing contest when she was 18. She released her first single in July 1999, and debut album “Jolin 1019″ in September. Her debut was a great success, making her an instant star in Taiwan.
Branded as the Teenage Boy Killer, Jolin released her 2nd album “Don’t Stop” in 2000, also with great success. Her 3rd and 4th album achieved decent sales, but didn’t perform as well as her previous albums. Furthermore, some contract dispute had led to her hiatus for more than a year in 2001-2002.
Jolin didn’t renew her contract with Universal and signed for Sony BMG in 2002. She released her comeback (5th) album “Magic” in 2003, and rose back to fame. Jolin shed her old image and turn into a more mature and sexy lady instead.
Jolin worked with famous pop star Jay Chou in Magic; and soon after both were rumoured to have a romance relationship. The rumoured relationship ‘lasted’ for almost 2 years before Jay was linked to another girl; both Jay and Jolin have never admitted to their relationship though.
Jolin released another 2 best-selling albums “Castle” and “J-Games” in 2004 and 2005 respectively, making her one of the top Chinese female singers.
Jolin signed for a new company, Capitol EMI in 2006. She released album “Dancing Diva” in May 2006, which becomes her best selling album thus far. Besides making breakthroughs in her music style, the album also branded her a dance diva, which she showed that she is worth the title in many occasions from her concerts and shows.
Jolin’s performance in Dancing Diva also landed her the prestigious Best Female Singer awards at the 18th Annual Golden Melody Awards in 2007.
Jolin has just released her latest album, “Agent J” in September 2007.
