Aoi Sora Biography
Early life
Sora Aoi was born November 11, 1983 in Tokyo. As a student she worked at various part-time jobs in the food-service industry, such as pizza parlours, pubs and sushi bars. While in her third year in high school, Aoi was scouted in Shibuya by a talent agency for gravure modelling. When asked how her stage name was chosen, Aoi explained, "My agency asked what color I liked. I said blue ("ao" in Japanese). He also asked what I like in general. I said sky ("Sora" in Japanese). So, he chose Sora Aoi (means "Blue Sky" in Japanese)."

Aoi made her debut as a nude model in November 2001. Her "big eyes cute smile," "young girl's face and... large breasts" quickly made her a popular magazine model. Her bust was at first reported as a metric F-cup, but had become a G-cup within a year of her acting debut.

Aoi made two adult movies, Summer Break and Twinkle Twinkle which were supposedly aired on a subscription porn TV service, although details have not been confirmed yet. AV debut
Aoi made her official AV debut in 2002, at the age of 18, in the Alice Japan production, Happy Go Lucky. Released in July, 2002, the film focused on Aoi's youth and "new face" status. The video showed Aoi making an urabon, and portraying a schoolgirl who is kidnapped and raped by her teacher.

Documentary-influenced AVs
Critics have often pointed out the documentary format employed in many Japanese adult videos, Aoi's second AV, her first for the MAX- A company's Samantha label, follows this format, pursuing the common theme of the actress' sexual initiation taking place on tape. By witnessing the actress' sexual awakening as it is occurring, the on-screen sexual activity is given added meaning to the video audience. This video, The Blue Sky: Sora Aoi, makes use of the sexual awakening theme by purportedly showing Aoi using a sex toy for the first time in her life. Facial, released in August of 2002, employed hand-held camera techniques to get a "realistic and wild" effect. The story has Aoi having sexual encounters in a hotel hot spring. xcity.jp's reviewer commented at the time that Aoi was "getting wilder and wilder in each video." Another of Aoi's videos in the documentary format is the August 2003 entry in the Bubbly Heaven series. This video series has popular AV actresses learning soapland techniques from professionals, and then demonstrating their new skills for the video audience.

Fictional AVs
Though the mock-documentary format is popular in Japanese adult videos, purely fictional films in various genres also remain popular. 50/50 (December 2002) tells the story of a woman who works at a restaurant and a cabaret club in order to earn rent money for the apartment in which she and her boyfriend live. The story gave Aoi a chance to wear a French maid costume, and to engage in sex with three different actors. xcity.jp reviewer "Bug" comments that the film is given a "sweet" quality by Aoi's frequent kissing of the actors during these scenes. Sola-Graph, released in January 2003, was Aoi's fourth appearance for the Samantha label. The video has Aoi engaging in sex with several prominent AV actors. Vegetables and fruit are involved in some of the encounters. Aoi's last partner in the video is Taka Kato, a legend in the Japanese AV world, whose ability to make women ejaculate through his manual dexterity has earned him the nickname, "Goldfinger". Typically for Kato, female ejaculation is featured in the final scene.

In February 2003's Wet and Tender, Aoi plays the role of a prostitute pursued by both her boyfriend and a stalker until she is rescued by one of her regular customers, whom she then rewards with free sex. The April 2003 release, Sexy Fruit, had Aoi as an aspiring celebrity who gives sexual favors for singing and acting lessons. Little Sister's Secret of May 2003 made use of a story in the incest genre. The sex scenes include paizuri with her boyfriend, face-sitting for her school teacher, and a sexual encounter with her brother-in-law. Aoi acted out a variety of emotions as demanded by her role in this drama, which the Kuki Group calls her best video. Sexy Butt of the following month had Aoi in love with a TV stuntman. She fantasizes being manually satisfied by this actor, and has sexual encounters with a screenwriter, and a man who owes a large debt. Despite the video's title, Aoi's posterior region was not given much emphasis in this video.

Other genres
In contrast to these urban-drama stories, some of Aoi's videos are in a more adventurous porno-science-fiction genre. Her October 2002 release for Alice Japan, Cosmic Girl, was an "erotic comedy" in which she played a super-heroine battling, and having sex with, aliens from the Vibe-star. The video included costume-play, with yukata, and singing. Her July 2003 video, Splash, has Aoi living in the near future, at which time humanity is enslaved by the "Ocean Species". Popularity and mainstream recognition
For her work in adult videos during her first year, Aoi won the "Best Breasts Award" at the AV Grand Prix awards ceremony of 2003. The same year, Aoi starred in the theatrically released High School Teacher (2003). In this film she played two roles, the title character, and a girl who had committed suicide the year before the high school teacher arrived.

While continuing to perform in hardcore AVs, Aoi appeared in the first video release of the Shuffle company's new label Believe. Entitled The Naked Body, this June 2003 release was an "image video," which has nude modeling but no sex. Naked / Sora Aoi #2 was Aoi's second "image video" for this company. This February 2004 release had Aoi modeling in Guam. By this time Aoi had become one of the most popular AV idols in Japan. Her name was the second-most popular Internet search on a female celebrity in Japan for 2005, and she was the most-searched AV idol. Aoi's popularity enabled her to enter mainstream entertainment, including television and radio, and singing on some punk rock albums.Her popularity even extended to South Korea, where the Korean hip-hop group, Epik High used one of her nude pictures to promote their concerts during their underground days. They were caught by the police, and publicly apologized to her years after.

Aoi continued to work for Alice Japan and Samantha until November 2004, when her contract was not renewed.She then moved to the newly formed porn film production company, S1. This studio's main selling points were that its films were thinly censored because the company that applied the censor was not monitored by the Japanese government and that the films contained more hardcore scenes such as gang rape and bondage.

Current life
By 2006, Aoi was appearing regularly on television, including acting in several dramas and often appearing on variety shows. According to a December, 2006 issue of Friday magazine, Aoi was currently having a love affair with renowned owarai (comic) artist Jiro Hachimitsu. Aoi and Hachimitsu were reportedly living together at the time.

Gillian Chung is a Hong Kong pop singer and actress. She resides in the affluent Midlevels district in Hong Kong with her younger sister. Though Jolin was introverted and shy as a child, her mother realized early on that Jolin was of scholarly material, so her mother brought her to attend Japanese-style mathematics lessons, which she completed more rapidly than anyone expected she would. During her primary school years, her excellent scores meant that she failed to rank in the top three of her class only once, a class in which she placed tenth. Eventually, her scholastic abilities enabled her to enroll at Jingmei Girls High School and later, Fu Jen Catholic University.

Jolin devoted her youth to studying the English language, self-studying English in her primary school years. Kwon BoA ambition was to become a singer when she was a kid, but her route to star hood came with a bit of faith and coincidence.

Lee Young-ae Biography
Lee Young-Ae (born January 31, 1971 in Seoul) is a South Korean actress who has a fan base in numerous countries, particularly in the East and Southeast Asian countries which have been hit by the Korean Wave. Recently, it expands further into South Asian and Middle East countries.

She first earned the title of 'Oxygen Lady' when she made her debut as TV model in 1991. After the success in TV commercials, she started gaining her stardom in TV dramas and movies with her beauty and acting skills. Her popularity has grown in an exponential manner due to her performance in the popular Korean drama Dae Jang Geum. In Hong Kong, the last episode had almost half of the Hong Kong population staying at home just to watch it. In China, hundreds of million viewers watched the drama even it was shown at late nights.

Since then, Lee Young-Ae has been invited to visit Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Japan. The fan crowds were phenomenal; in the first time in 12 years, NHK had to use NHK Hall to host the show. Her recent trip was the 2007 Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival in China as an Image Ambassador. Many fans came from around the world and spent hours waiting for her under the temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. She flew in an Asiana airplane with four of her Dae Jang Geum portraits painted on the side of the plane.

Beside her acting career, she has also been involved in several charity events. In 1997 she went to Ethiopia as a NGO Goodwill Ambassador and experienced the poverty and illness of African children. She went to Thar Desert in 1999 doing a TV show of the lowest caste people in India (see 1999 KBS2 Journey to Thar Desert in exterior link below). Later in 2001, she published these experiences in her autobiography “A Most Special Love” (partial English translation can be seen here) and donated all the income from the sale of the book to charity.

She was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador in 2004 by UNICEF and held several charity functions from that time on. She made many donations to schools and hospitals, which include an elementary school in China such that the school was renamed Lee Young-Ae Elementary School and the Chosun First Middle School in Harbin.

From her 2006 autobiography “Young-Ae’s Vow” (partial English translation can be seen here), she talked about how she became an actress. She recalled what made her go into show business was working with Andy Lau in a 1991 chocolate advertisement. In 1995, she made a decision to go to graduate school to learn theory of acting. Since then, she has not changed to challenge various kinds of acting roles, like that in Dae Jang Geum and later a very different role in Sympathy For Lady Vengeance.

She was awarded Best Actress awards in the Blue Dragon Film Awards (青龍映畫賞) in 2005 and Baeksang Art Awards (百想藝術大賞) in 2006 for the film Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. In 2007, she received Medal of Culture Merit for her contribution to Korean Wave from the South Korean government. (See above picture)

Her major contract in 2006 and 2007 is with LG Group, a large South Korean conglomerate. She became the spokesmodel (Pan-Asia) for all LG Electronics' products. In January of 2007, she received a gratitude frame from LG Electronics for her promotion of their products.

Lee Jun Ki Biography
Lee Jun Ki (Hangul: 이준기, Hanja: 李準基, born April 17, 1982, in Busan, South Korea) is a male South Korean actor and model. He rose to fame as Gong-gil in The King and the Clown. He has a mother, father, and one younger sister. He graduated from the Seoul Arts College with a major in Acting, and is a 1st degree in both Hapkido and Taekyon, and 3rd degree in Taekwondo. Besides Korean, Lee also speaks some Japanese and English. As of 2007, Lee is one of the top actors in South Korea.

Lee Jun Ki started out as a model and held minor roles in Korean dramas. In 2001, he first appeared in the television commercial for the So Basic fashion label.

Acting
His first drama appearance was as a dissatisfied teenager in the KBS drama What should I do? He later appeared with a minor role in Star's Echo, a drama by MBC and Fuji TV in 2004.

In 2005, his first major acting role came in The King and the Clown (왕의 남자), where he took on the role of a feminine-appearing entertainer forced to satisfy King Yeonsan's sexual and emotional cravings taking place in the late 15th century. The film became one of the highest grossing South Korean-made movies in South Korea, unexpectedly replacing Taegukgi as the most-watched film in Korean history with over 12.3 million viewers, despite the low amount Lee was paid of just over $100,000 for the role.The poor fee was largely due to the contract that was signed by Lee before he rose to stardom with the role of Gong-gil from 'King and the Clown'. Lee was against the halving of screen quotas in South Korea that allows foreign films to be shown in theaters on certain days, while domestic films are alloted another amount of days. He believed that without the screen quotas, The King and the Clown would not have been as successful in competing against foreign films. He earned many Best Male New Comer awards for his role as Gong-gil in The King and the Clown in 2006.

His next role was as the supporting character on the Korean drama SBS's My Girl together with Miss Korea, Park Si Yeon, Lee Da Hae, and Lee Dong Wook. His movie, Fly, Daddy, Fly which was released as well, garnered much attention and media coverage due to Lee's overwhelming popularity.

Lee's popularity overseas is also noted, where in the 19th Tokyo International Film Festival, he was recognized as a top star. In China, Lee was the only Korean among 300 Asian stars invited to attend a Chinese television show which celebrated the Chinese New Year. During the Shanghai International Film Festival, Lee was approached by acclaimed Chinese director Chen Kaige, who proposed that the two should make a film together in China, which Lee thought was a great idea. "I'd love to make the movie if the script is good and the character is right," Lee said.

In 2007, Lee film a joint Korea-Japan movie entitled Virgin Snow with Japanese actress Aoi Miyazaki, where he plays a Korean exchange student. He was later able to hold his first meeting with his Japanese fans on March 10, 2007 in Osaka, Japan. The next day he talked about his acting career during a talk show that was recorded at the Swiss Hotel in Osaka later. Virgin Snow prove to be a success and was able to place 9th at the box office, setting a record for a Korean film released in Japan. He also starred in an action drama Time Between Dog And Wolf, his first drama ever as the lead role. Ratings took off at a relatively high 20% (approximately) however waning as the drama concluded.

At the 27th Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) has announced that Lee will be this year’s recipient of its Rising Star award. The award acknowledges the actor’s work, media image, and growing star-power in the global arena. The festival, which runs through October 18 – 28, will present the award at “An Evening with Lee Jun-ki” on Friday, October 19 along with a screening of the US premiere of one of his latest films. He also has a role in Korea’s summer blockbuster May 18, about the events surrounding the Gwangju Massacre of 1980. The film will also screen at HIFF and has been nominated for the festival’s top award, the Golden Orchid for Best Feature of 2007. The film covers one of the most tragic events in Korean history when the repressive regime of General Chun Doo-hwan resulted in a citizens uprising in the city of Gwangju which was subsequently crushed with government troops entering the city and firing into crowds of civilian demonstrators. The film has sold over seven million tickets at the local box office.

Recently he joined Hong Kong EEG, making he entry into the Chinese market. He will be acting with Nicholas Tse as well as Charlene Choi, in what is rumored to be a modern adaptation of "The Butterfly Lovers" Cast and movie is not yet confirmed.

A poll by Music website Jukeon asked "Who will be the most popular if they release an album?" Lee ended up being in first place with 66% of the votes. He released a mini album which contains three songs that he wrote for his fan meetings.

Erika Sawajiri Biography
Erika was born to a Japanese father and an Algerian-French mother and is the youngest of three brothers and sisters. Her name is derived from an orchids's name, Ericaceae's Erica. Lee Hyori is a member of the Korean pop group Fin. K.L. but also went solo in 2003, Fin. K.L. stands for "Fine Killing Liberty", which loosely translates into the "fin" (i.e the end) of "liberty killing," which means that the girls will stand up against and put an end to anything that will "kill (our) liberty." The name was chosen for the band by DSP Entertainment even before the members were chosen. Lee-Hom (Alexander) Wang was born in Rochester, New York on 17 May 1976. Three years later, he began to sing. Lee-Hom learnt to play the violin and the piano at a young age, and was involved in plays and musicals, including Kiss Me Kate, Briyadoor and Music Man, throughout his school career. He studied music at Williams College in Massachusetts and Berklee College of Music. Lee-Hom received a MA in Jazz Piano & Composition at Berklee College. Early life
Rain became interested in R&B and Hiphop dancing when he was in 6th grade. As a teenager, he was a member of a boy band called Fanclub. The group was short-lived, and soon disbanded. At that time Rain was having the hardest time of his life. His mother was sick, he had no money, he had a little sister to take care of and had to go to school. Yet he still pressed forward, always dancing and dreaming of becoming a singer. Rain then began auditioning for various talent agencies. In a CNN interview, however, he recalled being repeatedly rejected because of his looks: "In fact, I was told after one audition that my singing and dancing was great but I didn't make it because I didn't have double eyelids."Finally, Rain entered an audition for Korean talent agency JYP Entertainment. Park Jin Young, the CEO of the agency, took a personal interest in Rain and accepted him as a trainee. During the early years of training, Rain was a backup dancer.

Finally, in 2002 he debuted with the album Bad Guy where he was introduced to the media through his stage or commercial name, Rain. In the album, a similarly-named single Bad Guy was a big hit. After his first album, he took time off from his career as a singer to star in the drama series, Sang Doo! Let's Go To School. Rain then went on his RAINY DAY 2005 Tour, starting in Seoul and followed by Tokyo and Hong Kong; due to his fame and his extravagant performances, tickets sold out quickly. His first solo concert in Japan last summer, entitled Rainy Day Japan held at the Tokyo International Forum, was so popular that all the tickets were sold out 30 seconds after going on sale. The tickets for another of his concerts in Taiwan were sold out the moment they became available also. His performances in Hong Kong also sold out in a couple of hours. Fame in the United States
In addition to Time magazine voting Rain the second most influential person of 2006, second only to Taiwanese director Ang Lee, the magazine also noted that Rain may collaborate in the future with Diddy. This came after reviewing Rain's performances in Madison Square Garden in February 2006. His two day concert, Rainy Day New York was marketed and promoted by the Asian concert production company Rainstone Live. Tickets were sold out within a matter of days.

Special guests who made stage appearances at the concert included American pop singer JoJo, R&B singer Omarion, and hip-hop mogul Diddy.

There is also news that Rain will be recording a duet with Omarion, who used to be the vocalist of the popular hip-hop group, B2K, and had starred in the movie, You Got Served. When Rain's first movie, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK, finished filming in early July 2006, he departed for the U.S. to discuss the possibility of singing the duet with Omarion, and to meet with the organizers of his Asian Tour. Rain apparently met Omarion through his producer, who had written a song for Omarion's recent album. Also, after Rain's concert in February in New York - where Omarion danced to Rain's song "Bad Guy" - Omarion and Rain became friends, says JYP Entertainment. They also noted that the two may star in a movie together one day.

Omarion and Rain recorded a duet song, "Man Up," that was released on the European version of Omarion's album 21 as a bonus track. The song has yet to be released in the U.S. due to contractual issues between several record labels.

In 2007, Rain made it to People's Most Beautiful People list for the first time, in its "First-Time Beauties 2007" section. In a press release, Rain stated that he was honored to be on the list, and also noted that it will be a great boost to his efforts to raise his public awareness in the United States.[14] Also in 2007, Rain topped Time's open online poll. He beat Stephen Colbert by 100,000 votes[15]; Colbert jokingly retaliated by producing a parody of Rain's music video for "Ways to Avoid the Sun".

Kemanit modeled for Thai Airways catalogue, then went on to star in a music video. The win at Thailand Supermodels would start a whirlwind of activities for the 16 year-old. Aya Matsuura was signed by Hello! Project (named project but it’s actually a talent agency) in year 2000 and made her solo debut in 2001 with single “Doki Doki Love Mail.”

Known as Ayaya by her fans, Aya Matsuura has become one of Hello’s most successful artists since then. She has released dozens of singles, a few albums and starred in some movies and TV dramas.

Aya Matsuura also collaborated with some other Hello’s teen idols and released some joint singles, but none of the collaborations last long.
